
The goals of the Brazoria County Alzheimer's Awareness Project are to provide information about dementia and to encourage early detection.
Each fall, the group partners with the Brazoria County Library System to provide memory screenings. For 13 years, BCAAP has sponsored one of the largest community-based screenings in the United States.
Annual activities include Caregiver Conferences and Resource Fairs in Angleton and Alvin.

Dale Libby, CEO of the Gathering Place, presents the 2020 Brazoria County Dementia Webinar. The keynote speaker, Dr. Margaret Apostol, MD, presented "Why Nutrition and Lifestyle is the Foundation for Cognitive Health." A YouTube video by Dr. Mark Hyman, “Why Fixing the Gut is Key to Healing Chronic Disease” was also shown. In addition to these two topics, there were four short videos from our local Community Partners, explaining the care giving services that they provide.
